Jammer van de vreselijke onscherpte, maar een foto met een mooi verhaal. Dit bord hangt in de James Joyce, de eerste en enige Ierse pub in İstanbul. De tekst luidt:

A Turkish state company controls the import of foreign beer and at present it only allows foreign beer to be imported in bottles. The company that imports Guinness at present into Turkey, will not sell us the bottles because of a bureaucratic rule which only allows the sale of foreign beers to companies with Turkish licences.

Ik nam de foto terwijl Teije even naar het toilet was, en ik dacht alleen te zijn. Toen ik me omdraaide stond de eigenaar achter me, en heb ik hem maar een hart onder de riem proberen te steken terwijl hij uitlegde dat er echt wel Guinness geschonken zou worden in de nabije toekomst. Juist. Doe dan maar een Efes.
